Over time due to friction and heat, it may wear out or even get damaged eventually requiring a replacement to maintain a properly working oil pump. Note, never use waste oil. This results in damage to the oil pump, the bar, and the chain. It is also important to use oil of the right grade (suitable viscosity range) in accordance with the air temperature. Make sure to refer to the owners manual and the appropriate diagrams of your model for the correct installation of the new part. You will need to use appropriate tools in order to remove the chain, the bar, and the sprocket in order to perform this repair. This pump piston is made of durable materials and is sold as an individual component. Keep in mind, other parts of the oiler mechanism are all sold separately.
