Popular Circular Saw Switches
This is an on/off switch for various models of circular saws. This switch is located near the main handle assembly of the saw and responsible for toggling the power to the saw. This switch is made of durable black plastic and features a single toggle that the user presses to turn the saw on. Over time and through extended use, this switch can wear out and fail, at which point it needs to be tested with a multimeter, and/or replaced. To remove this switch for testing and replacement, you will need to first disconnect it from power, and then disassemble one half of the main handle with a drill or screwdriver. Once the securing screws are removed, you can pull the plastic shell of the handle off to expose its internal components. Pull the switch out of the housing and remove the wires connected to it, noting their location for the future installation. With the switch removed, you can test it with a multimeter to see if it has continuity, and if it does not, it will need to be replaced. With the new switch in-hand, install the wires with a screwdriver, starting with the motor wires (usually black first, and then white) and then the cord wires. Now place the switch into the housing and make sure the switch and wires are all flush, before reassembling the handle and securing it together.

This Trigger switch has 4 internal terminals. This authentic Milwaukee replacement part is sold individually. rnrnSwitches are commonly replaced parts in power tools. A switch handles all on/off and variable speed functions. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they tend to degrade and wear out over time, eventually requiring replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are:rn • The tool will not start when you use the switch, or it requires multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it refuses to start at all.rn • The variable speed function and electric braking aren't working properly.
