It is a genuine OEM sourced 5-inch sanding pad assembly that is specially designed for use with Craftsman orbital sanders. Its purpose is to provide support for hook and loop sandpaper, unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. To make the pad last longer do not put to much pressure on the sander when using it, the pressure will create heat and ruin the small hooks on the pad. To replace the pad simply remove the four screws attaching it to the sander and replace it with the new pad. Please note this high-quality component is sold individually.

Over the past few years the popularity of Hook and Loop paper has grown because of the ease of changing sandpaper when needed. Over that of the PSA (Pressure Sensitive Sandpaper) Applying too much pressure on the sander may cause premature wear on the Hook and Loop pad. When a pad needs to be replaced, simply remove the four screws that hold the pad to the sander, then replace it with a new pad. • Standard hook and loop pad for use with 5" discs. • It has 8 dust collection holes which works in conjunction with the dust bag to keep you work surface free of debris.

This brake is a genuine Ryobi replacement part. It is commonly used in random orbit sanders. It is made of rubber and sold individually. A screwdriver is needed for replacement. To replace this part: 1. Remove the backing pad by removing the four screws. 2. Remove the top cap by extracting the retaining screws. 3. Remove the switch trigger by lifting it out of the unit. 4. Remove the retaining screws from the motor housing. Then separate the two halves and top of the housing with a screwdriver. 5. Remove the old break pad from the unit and replace it with the new pad by aligning the tabs with the grooves. 6. Reassemble the unit.
