The control cable stops the blade when the control handle is released on walk-behind mowers. If the cable is broken it will cause the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. You may need pliers to complete this repair. • First you want to see where tje old cable is attached to the motor assembly. • Just remove the cable end there and install the new one, • Now you can run the new cable up to the control handle • Then just as the old cable, put the z-shaped end through the hole in the control handle • Once both ends are attached, just push the upper mount assembly of the old cable out of the hole in the upper handle • Tie the cable in place just as the old one was, but leave enough clearance and free play to avoid over-bending and breaking the new cable
