This gear has a square arbor that allows the tensioning bolt to fit into it, and the gear turns the bolt which moves the chain tensioner. It is an authentic manufacturer-sourced replacement part which is specially designed for use with Craftsman Trimmers. The Gearbox Assembly contains the gears that turn the line spool for cutting. The most common reason for replacing the gearbox assembly is if the trimmer head is not spinning or there is grinding noise coming from the trimmer head. The gearbox assembly includes 3 screws, mounting hardware, Cap, and the Head assembly. Tools that you will need to replace the gearbox assembly are a Small screwdriver or hex wrench, Phillip's screwdriver and a Socket/Ratchet set (or wrench set).

This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with Husqvarna brushcutters and trimmers. The gear head assembly links the drive shaft and the cutting head. This is a complete assembly including the gears, bearings, retaining clips, and flanges. The gear head can wear out preventing the cutter head from rotating. It is recommended to inspect the clutch and drive shaft if the cutter head does not rotate to properly identify the part that has failed. This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed to work with string trimmers. This part is attached to the lower boom assembly and it is what drives/spins the trimmer head. It is secured to the unit with two (2) screws. Internal gears or the gear box are not sold separately. This assembly includes the trimmer head. To complete this repair you will need a screwdriver.
